This post and photo appear at SkyWatch Friday, “a place to enjoy skies and views from all around the world.” A new edition begins every Thursday evening at 7:30 GMT. This photo checks in at #379 for this week.

Next to Wonderland Lake in North Boulder this morning.

Autumn color

No fiddling with color, no Photoshopping. Honest. (I haven’t had Photoshop anyway since I did a computer upgrade in midsummer.) Straight out of my pocket camera, Canon Powershot SD100, with minor cropping.

Thank you for sharing your tree pictures. They’re the next-best thing to getting out and communing with leafy wonder myself.

Perfect clear blue sky, and a perfect background for the bright yellow leaves. A treat to find such perfection, and a joy to share it.

Glad you all enjoyed the vivid color! I found the tree while I was walking Bodhi at nine in the morning, but of course I didn’t have my camera at the moment. Bodhi and I hightailed it home, and I grabbed the camera and jumped on my bike to head back to the lake. The photo had to happen right away because of course the sky gets lighter at midday, and wind and possible frost were forecast for the night, so by the following morning the tree would look different. Gotta take advantage of the moment in order to share such perfection!

What a beauty. I do love autumn. Our trees are just beginning to turn here in NE Oregon.
